The future of how is in our sharing links
We dress transparent vowels in airtight corridors
To touch is to ecstatically believe
We feel in every direction yet speak of rooms and sidewalks
We exist in pixels in our FULL HD realities
We ask in scripts from screen notes
To dream is to remember in every language
When time bends real means anything we
To imagine is to force future into present
Like flying opposite the globe
Our longing is a ritual of trust
To design is to listen deeply
Our present lasts a very fast forever
We force time to stop so it can begin
Design is plastic revolution
And revolution is anything we
JOIN OUR OPEN CALL for creatives in and beyond the disciplines of art and design to participate in a 3-day event hosted by K41 and created in collaboration with local artists and researchers. During the days spanning 9-11 of June, K41, a co-creative hub in the heart of Copenhagen, transforms into a platform for creatives to engage in conversations and workshops, present their work to a broader audience and expand their network through exciting interactions. Our objective is to challenge the restrictive concepts of art exhibitions and design showrooms by foregrounding creative practices and inviting active audience participation. During the 3-day event, participating artists will have the opportunity to present their work and their processes. This includes a public exhibition, live documentation, and collective publication alongside panel discussions and presentations, tailored to the participating practices. The aspiration is to create an environment for sharing experiences and exploring new territories. Our open call is an open invitation to meet, share and exchange. We welcome everyone to get in contact, especially those we haven’t met, and join forces.
IMPOSSIBLE OBJECTS is about looking at the creative process beyond the constraints of feasibility, functionality, and efficiency. They are experiments, accidents, works-in-progress, unpredictable successes. Design is here imagined as a tool for resistance and representation, a vehicle of communicating yet-unformulated emotions and unrefined ideas. Through the exploration of impossibility, how can we free creative practice into infinite paths? We hope to engage creatives with different responses to the provocation of the theme and indulge in impossible narratives and creative exchange.
K41 is a voluntary-run collective and this is a not-for-profit initiative. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide financial support for shipping or artist fees at the moment. Our contribution is the continuing effort to create and expand a platform for the communication of the artists we host and their work. This initiative is only possible thanks to the large group of collaborators and their continuous effort and insight.
